  • Early Childhood Educator (Afternoon Recreation Program)

    Join our team as an Early Childhood Educator for the Afternoon Recreation Program at Meredith Center! In this part-time role, you will design and facilitate engaging activities, provide personalized care, and maintain a stimulating environment for preschool-aged children. Your expertise in child development and bilingual communication will help foster positive relationships with parents and collaborate effectively with fellow staff.

    Part-time, 18 hours per week during the school year (Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons)

  • 1:1 Aide – Summer Camp Team

    Position Summary:

    Centre Meredith is seeking compassionate, patient, and energetic individuals to join our summer camp team as 1:1 Aides. In this role, you will provide individualized support to children who require extra assistance to fully participate in our summer camp activities. This includes helping with transitions, communication, emotional regulation, and inclusion in group programming.

    As a 1:1 Aide, you play a vital role in creating a positive, inclusive, and safe camp environment for all campers. You will work closely with the Camp Director, Inclusion Coordinator, and other camp staff to ensure your assigned camper can thrive and enjoy their summer experience.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Provide dedicated, individualized support to a designated camper throughout the camp day

    - Support participation in camp activities, both structured and unstructured, including arts, sports, outdoor play, and group games
    - Assist with personal care needs (if required), transitions, emotional regulation, and communication

    -Work collaboratively with camp staff to ensure activities are inclusive and adapted as needed
    - Encourage independence while providing support tailored to the camper’s specific needs
    - Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of your assigned camper at all times
    - Maintain clear and respectful communication with camp leadership and, when appropriate, the camper’s family
    - Support and model positive behavior and social interactions

    Job Requirements:

    - Must be at least 16 years old
    - Experience working with children, especially those with additional needs, is an asset
    - Preference given to candidates with experience in a similar role, or a background in social work, special education, or child development
    - Must be bilingual (French and English)

    Ability to follow guidance from senior staff and work independently
    - Must be available for the full duration of the camp season (including training)
    - Must be able to work outdoors and participate in physical activities
    - Clear background check (vulnerable sector screening required before start date)
    - CPR/First Aid certification is an asset (or willingness to complete)n goes here
